Flap Gate Commissioning at West Sea Shipyards

After years of design, engineering development, construction, and extensive testing, we are proud to announce the successful commissioning of the new flap gate at the West Sea new dry dock in Viana do Castelo.

This milestone represents a significant achievement in naval architecture and marine engineering, delivered by the VERA NAVIS Ship Design team, in close collaboration with West Sea.

From the initial conceptual design to the finalized engineering solution, our team addressed a unique set of operational, structural, and technical challenges to develop a reliable system capable of supporting critical ship maintenance and repair operations.

This project reflects the dedication, expertise, and collaborative spirit of everyone involved. Seeing this complex engineering solution enter service is a great source of pride and a testament to the value of innovation and teamwork in the maritime industry.

A special thank you to the West Sea team and all partners who contributed to making this achievement possible.

Aas Mek delivered newbuilding no. 215, “Ronja Viking”

Aas Mek. Verksted AS has delivered its new build Y215, “Ronja Viking”, to Sølvtrans AS.
She’s the first of the new 3000 m3 series AAS 3002, a design developed primarily for smolt transport and featuring battery-hybrid operation.

Vera Navis Ship Design is proud to be one of Aas Mek’s engineering partners.
For this project, we delivered structural engineering plus production packages for both structure and systems.

Formidable – Completion in June 2026

Vera Navis is pleased to announce the successful conversion of CF Formidable, built by Holland Shipyards Group.

CF Formidable is a sustainable and versatile 110 m CSV that will sail as part of the Chevalier Floatels fleet. The vessel is well suited for FPSO installation and maintenance campaigns, as well as a wide range of offshore operations.
For this project, Vera Navis was responsible for supporting the production engineering.

We look back on an enjoyable project and would like to thank everyone involved for the good cooperation.

Delivery of SUEVE – 2nd of the SALMO series

Vera Navis is proud to announce the delivery of MV SUEVE, the second of the SALMO series, successfully built by Royal T Shipyards for G. Junquera Marítima.

Following the recent delivery of her sister vessel IANA, the SUEVE reinforces the series focus on efficient and sustainable shortsea cargo transport.

Vera Navis contributed to the vessel’s systems and structure detail design plus production packages for a fully pre-outfitted unit’s building strategy, supporting Royal T Shipyards in bringing this project from concept to completion.

The delivery of the SUEVE highlights our ongoing collaboration with Royal T Shipyards and underlines Vera Navis commitment in helping its clients providing reliable engineering solutions.

Delivery of the Electric Ferry ALVARET

Vera Navis is pleased to highlight the delivery of the ALVARET, a fully electric and remotely operated ferry, built by Holland Shipyards Group for the Swedish Road Ferries.

For this innovative project, Vera Navis provided complete systems coordination for production, ensuring the seamless integration of the ferry’s advanced technologies.

The first of two sister vessels, the ALVARET sets a new standard in sustainable and smart shipbuilding, combining zero-emission operation with remote control capabilities. We’re proud of contributing in bringing forward the next generation of green and intelligent ferries.

Delivery of TAMARACK

Vera Navis is proud to announce the delivery of TAMARACK, a cement carrier built by Holland Shipyards Group for Eureka Shipping.

Vera Navis delivered the full design package for the project, from early feasibility studies to final design. This covered concept, classification, and detail design, thus ensuring full compliance with class requirements and design-to-build integration.

The TAMARACK represents a significant addition to Eureka Shipping’s specialized fleet. It also marks another successful collaboration with Holland Shipyards and strengthens Vera Navis track record in supporting highly specialized cargo vessels.

Vera Navis joins SELAR sail-assisted expedition vessel project with CNOI

Vera Navis is proud to be collaborating with CNOI on the construction of a remarkable new concept for SELAR Expeditions – an exclusive expedition vessel, designed by Ship-ST, to offer immersive and luxurious experiences in remote and ecologically sensitive regions of the world, as well as support on scientific missions and environmental monitoring.

This innovative 70m concept for 36 passengers and a crew of 24 stands out as the world’s first sail-assisted expedition vessel suitable for arctic environment, embodying technological innovation, respect for nature, and a passion for exploration.

Our team at Vera Navis has been entrusted with the coordination of all mechanical systems and the development of comprehensive production information for the entire vessel.

We are honored to be part of this pioneering effort alongside SHIP-ST, CNOI and SELAR Expeditions.

Launch of the IANA, Thecla Bodewes 1st SALMO series

Vera Navis is proud to have contributed to the successful launch of the IANA, a 5,050 dwt diesel-electric multi-purpose vessel and the first in Thecla Bodewes Shipyards‘ SALMO series. Commissioned by Transtal Shipping BV, the IANA exemplifies sustainable innovation in ship design.

Our team provided comprehensive structural detail design and systems detail design services, ensuring the vessel’s robust construction and efficient system integration. The IANA’s modular diesel-electric propulsion system and optimized hull design position it as a future-ready vessel, prepared for alternative fuels such as methanol or hydrogen.

We are honored to have collaborated with Thecla Bodewes Shipyards on this pioneering project, contributing to the advancement of fuel versatile maritime solutions.
